The St. Louis Lifestyle

St. Louis has something for everyone. There are dense, vibrant, urban neighborhoods, newer-style suburbs and everything in between within driving distance of Bayless' campus. St. Louis's downtown skyline and the Gateway Arch are visible from parts of our grounds.

St. Louis was recently ranked as the best city for new college graduates by Insurify. On top of that, our housing and rent costs are significantly lower compared to metropolitan areas of similar size. Our food and nightlife scene also rivals cities of larger sizes.

Many St. Louisans talk about the number of free amenities available to all. The World-Class St. Louis Zoo, the Art Museum, and Forest Park—one of the nation's best urban parks—are all free.

If you are into sports, St. Louis has the 11-time World Champion Cardinals, the 2019 Stanley Cup Champion Blues and the new (among the best in the league) St. Louis City SC MLS Club. It is also a short road trip to an SEC (Mizzou) and Big 10 (Illinois) Campus.

St. Louis is also on the tour route for most major music acts and is the location for The Muny (the nation's second-oldest outdoor theatre), The Fabulous Fox Theatre, and the St. Louis Opera.

In terms of your development, higher education is a big deal in St. Louis. If you are considering pursuing a graduate degree, there is a considerable chance a university within the metro area has the program you want. Bayless also provides tuition reimbursement to employees to help with things like master's degrees.

What our teachers said in an anonymous survey:

“The students are almost never a disciplinary problem. I have wide latitude to experiment with different teaching and assessment methods, and to address content in novel ways. I feel like I have a direct line to administrators and that my opinion matters and is considered before they make a final decision. Administrators demonstrate a caring, positive attitude toward the success of their teachers.”

"I feel well-supported and cared for. I appreciate how Bayless School District values wellness and community."

"Everyone is treated as part of the family, and you can ask absolutely anyone for assistance and it will be provided with a smile."

"The people  in our building are unmatched. They are truly some of the kindest teachers, staff members, and families I've experienced in my teaching career. Everyone is working together towards a common goal. "

"Administrators are helping me grow as a leader and helping me follow my dreams in my educational career. I receive support when I need it, but they will step back and let me make decisions to help me grow as a leader."

"I teach with wonderful people. Everyone comes to work with a positive attitude, gives 110%, is a team player, and always gives their best."
