DISCIPLINE INFORMATION
Bayless Elementary School
Student Expectations
The Bayless Elementary Staff has developed the following rules/expectations.
PLAYGROUND
Stay inside the yellow lines around the playground.
Always walk in the island area.
Stay far away from the swings when waiting, and count to 20 for a swing.
Allow one person at a time on the slides, and no walking up the slides or running down them. Always use the ladder.
Only go one direction on the monkey bars, one person at a time.
Only bounce the balls, do not kick or fist them.
Do not leave the playground area to retrieve a ball without permission. Students are not to go on the parking lot.
Keep hands and feet to yourself.
Use appropriate voices outside, speak respectfully to others, and do not scream.
Stop playing and line up quickly and quietly after the whistle has been blown.
* Playground equipment is provided for the children. Students should not bring equipment from home.
* Indoor recess will be called based on the weather conditions. This decision will be made by the office and will be followed by all students.
* If weather conditions dictate the need for warmer clothing and a student has not dressed appropriately, they will be kept in from recess for their own protection. We would rather be safe than sorry.
CAFETERIA
Stay in your seat and raise your hand if you need something.
Walk. No running.
Talk with an inside voice, and speak respectfully to one another.
Talk quietly during dismissal times so others can hear the directions being given.
Use proper table manners, and do not wear hats at the table.
Walk through the line nicely and get all the things you need for lunch.
Do not talk until you pass through the cafeteria doors.
HALL
Be quiet in the halls. No talking.
Keep your hands to your side. No touching.
Stay together in the line.
Only walk in the hallway.
Show respect for other people and school property.
RESTROOM
Be quiet in the restroom.
Use the soap and water appropriately.
Use one paper towel to dry hands and put it in the trash can.
FRONT SIDEWALK AREA
Always walk.
Stay on the sidewalk.
Find a teacher if you need help.
Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
Hold your book bag/back pack properly.
* All teachers have developed their own discipline to assure these expectations are met. The principal will follow the discipline policy adopted by the Bayless Board of Education.
